London and Norwich (Part 2)

Hello,
When I came back from France I spent 3 days down south and here is what I got up to while down South.

London
On the first day down south we went to London for the day and it was amazing. First we looked round Camden Market because a)I had always wanted to do it and b)we had never done it before

Camden Lock Market

There are 2 parts of Camden Market, there is one in Camden itself and one by Camden Lock. My favourite was Camden Lock as there were heaps more stalls and it was much more spaced out.

The stalls

The stalls at Camden Market sold a variety of things such as clothes, jewellery, positive message plaques and much more.
While at Camden market I picked up a few bits and bobs that I liked. I loved looking round the stalls as they all had a unique touch to them.

Food stalls

One of my favourite parts of Camden Market was the food stalls as they all handed out free samples which were very yummy. In fact we got lunch from one of these stalls.

After looking round the market we looked a few shops in Camden itself. I loved the shops in Camden as they were very different from normal shops, particularly the design of the shops

Funky shops in Camden Town

After having a good look round Camden we got on the Tube and went to the Natural History Museum. There was an exhibition on wolly mammoths and we had tickets so we looked at the exhibition. It was really fascinating and it told you all about wolly mammoths

After looking round the Museum we got the tube to are final destination of the day, the Tower of London. At the Tower of London they are currently filling up the grass in front of it with ceramic poppies for 100 years since WW1. At the moment there is about 200,000 already placed and they hope to have over 1 million placed by November 11th.

the poppies at the bottom)

Overall it was a brilliant day out in London and I hope I can go back to London again soon.

Norwich

The day after London we were supposed to go to Cambridge but it rained so we just went straight to Norwich. On the final day (day 3) we had a morning shopping in Norwich. If you have been reading my blog for a long time you will know I have visited Norwich previously. They have oodles of shops in Norwich some of which are modern every day shops and some which are funky knick knack stores. It was a great morning shopping in Norwich and I bought quite a few bits and bobs. For lunch we ate in Bella Italia and then came back home.

2 weeks in France (Part 1)

Hello lovelies,
Yesterday I arrived back from my holiday in France and I had an amazing time. It was great to get away for a bit of sunshine and just being able to relax and chill.

For 2 weeks(09/08/14-23/08/14) I stayed in a cottage with my family in the port of Dinan which was not to far away from the medieval town itself. Dinan is in the region of Brittany.

The cottage we stayed in

Port of Dinan

The town, Dinan

At the cottage we stayed at there was a bar literally opposite us so we ate there several nights. The food was delicious and the staff there were very friendly.

The bar opposite the cottage

During our 2 week stay we explored the towns in Brittany as we had only ever visited Dinan in Brittany previously.I'm not going to write what I did every day but instead talk about a few of the places we visited.

Concale

Well we didn't visit Concale itself as we couldn't find parking but its a lovely town right by the coast. However we did visit the headland. On the headland we had a walk on the cliff and as you can see from the picture it was gorgeous. It was a lovely, sunny day and the coast was just simply gorgeous.

St-Marlo
St-Marlo is another old-fashioned town which is right by the coast and it even has a beach. Marlo means pirate is french and because St-Marlo has a port as well (although its much bigger than Dinan's) named town of pirates. We visited St-Marlo on 2 occasions and on both occasions we looked around the shops. The shops ranged from- tourist, French cloth shops, creperies and bakeries.

The Beaches

On a number of occasions we had days at the beach. On the mornings I would play frisbee and tennis with my brother. In the afternoon we would swim and play in the sea (despite it being a little chilly). The french have such gorgeous beaches and all the beach days were very sunny and I had lots of fun.

My 2 weeks in Dinan were amazing and I had so much fun with my family. I also enjoyed doing a lot of shopping in France and eating French food.

Tutorial: Packing for your holidays

Hello beauties,
Some of us will be lucky enough to be going away during the holidays. Packing for your holidays can be a nightmare and stressful so here are some handy hints to make sure you take everything that you need.

Golden Tips

  • Don't leave it to last minute- you will be rushing round like mad and could over pack or ,worse, forget something
  • Write 2 lists- one for going on holiday and one for coming back. That way you can make sure you have everything you need and when you return you won't forget anything.
  • Use "travel size" products or buy "travel size" bottles to put your toiletries into- this means you have more space and your luggage will be less heavy
  • Put breakable items in thick socks
  • Put leakable items in a plastic bag and bring another plastic bag to put dirty clothes into
  • Location- pack clothes based on where your going. EG if your going to the beach pack sandals, swimwear and beach clothes
Essentials
No matter where you are going here are some essentials that you need to bring
  • Camera
  • Money
  • 1 pair of trainers
  • Suncream
  • Sunglasses and hat
  • Books/magazines,games ect
  • Evening dress (doesn't have to be super posh or fancy)
  • Swimwear
  • Lipbalm
I hope these tips help you when packing for your holiday

Summer Lovin'

Hello,
I hope you are all having a lovely summer. On a few blogs that I have read I have seen blog posts where they are answering summer related questions so I thought I would have a go.

What's your favourite thing about Summer?
Being off school for 6 weeks and getting to relax and do fun and exciting things during those weeks.

Favourite Summer Drink?

Lemonade (preferably pink of course). I find lemonade lovely and refreshing on a hot summers day. Its sweet and fizzy as well so that's a bonus

Location you like to go to each summer?
I normally go abroad for a couple of weeks each summer. However if I had to pick I would say somewhere in Europe that's not too hot and has beautiful beaches and ancient towns to look around.

What's your favourite summer look?
Cute and pretty short/sleeveless tops with a pair of shorts and sandals. I also like to wear pretty, floaty summer dresses.

Dresses or Skirts?

I own more dresses than skirts so it has to be dresses. Also dresses are more pretty and the best time to wear dresses is during the summer months.

Sandals or Ballet Pumps?

Sandals- Ballet pumps never stay on my feet so it has to be sandals.

Hair Up or Down?

Hmmm this is a tricky one. I'm growing out my hair and it gets really annoying when I leave it down so I'm going with hair up. I can style it in many different ways and it keeps my hair out of my way.

Smoky eyes or bold lips?

Bold Lips- I have never attempted to do smoky eyes yet and if I'm going in the pool or sea it would be too much hassle. Bold lips are very simple to do and make a big statement.

Favourite perfume for summer?
I tend to use the same perfume all year round but I would go with a light and fruity scent

Favourite summer music?
My music taste stays the same all year round. However I have do have one song that reminds me of summer days and that's Lets Go by Calvin Harris

S'mores or Ice Cream?

Ice cream- I have only ever had s'mores once and summer isn't summer unless you eat ice cream. Also summer is the season for eating ice cream and there are zillions of yummy flavours to try.

What's your most fun summer memory?
Every year my school holds a summer drama course during the first week of summer. Here we play fun and wild games on a morning and then do whole group drama's in the afternoon.

Does your skin tan or burn?
I'm really pale so I hardly tan and if I don't use at least factor 50 sun cream then I burn.

Favourite summer nail polish?
I prefer to wear pretty pastel nail polish during the summer.

Sunglasses or Hats?

For me I have to wear both but if I had to pick one I would choose sunglasses.

Pool or Beach?

Beach- Summer was invented for visiting the beach! I love to lie down on a towel on the sand and relax and I love to splash about in the sea

Here are all things things I like about summer, what do you like about summer?

How to have a great summer

Hello! Like most of you I'm on my summer holidays. 6 weeks seems like a long time especially if your not going away or haven't got anything planned. Here are some tips on how to have a great summer.

1.Get homework out of the way- Unfortunately teachers do sometimes set homework during the summer holidays especially if your starting your GCSE'S. DO NOT forget about it because at the end of the holidays you will be rushing round like mad trying to do your homework. Instead do it as soon as you get it so that its out of the way and leaves you with the rest of your summer free.

2.Plan,Plan,Plan- If your not doing anything this summer then make lots of plans! Make plans to go out, make plans with friends and family. This means you will have a fun filled summer and not just sit around everyday bored.

3.Try something new- Okay you don't have to go sky-diving or tour the world but something simple. For example go somewhere you have never been before, try out new foods, start a blog ect.

4.Go to the beach- Summer holidays aren't the summer holidays if you don't visit the beach. So at least one day during your holidays why not have a trip to the beach with your friends or family. You could splash in the sea, make sandcastles, play volleyball, sunbathe ect.

5.Make a summer bucket list- Make a list of everything you want to do this summer and then do them. They don't have to be mega big and adventurous but small ones like: stargaze, bake, learn to surf ect.

I hope you find these tips useful to have a great summer.
