❤January Favourites❤

Hello lovelies,
Well the first month of 2015 is nearly over and for me its been a very busy month for me. I had my mock exams when I went back to college but they mostly went ok.

Anyway last year I didn't do my monthly favourites but after looking at several on different blogs I decided I'm going to give it a go this year. Here are my January favourite products

Argan Hair Oil
Price: £6.99

My hair is dyed and although I try hard to look after my hair the ends can feel rather dry. I had read a couple of great reviews about this product so when I saw it on offer in Tesco I decided to buy some. This product is amazing and has completely transformed my hair! The ends of my hair now feel soft and well nourished and it makes my hair smell fab as well. Also you only need to use a tiny blob at a time.

Miss Manga Mascara
Price: £8.99

I had used this before and loved it but unfortunately I ran out. However I was very lucky because on christmas day I received 2 in my stocking. This mascara is my favourite as it makes my lashes look really long and gives them tonnes of volume. Its very easy to apply (especially as it has a flexi brush). All I would say is use a tissue to take excess mascara off the brush before you start.

Carmex Lip Balm

Price: £2.69

Like with the mascara I also got a pot of carmex in my stocking. Carmex is my saving grace as it's the only lip balm I have ever known to work for me. My lips can sometimes get quite dry and Carmex does at brilliant job at soothing them.

Eco Tools Make Up Brushes
Price for pack of 6: £11.99

During the christmas holidays I decided to finally buy some proper make up brushes rather than use cheap ones. I was keen to try the eco tools ones as they are environmentally friendly. I did buy a pack of 6 but I'm currently only using 2. The smallest one I use to apply my eye-shadow and it works wonders as it makes it really easy to apply. The big one I use to apply my blusher and again it makes applying my make up very easy. Also the brushes have a cute pattern on them.

Lush Snow Fairy
Price: £3.50 (roughly)

I know christmas is over but I always buy a bottle of Snow Fairy every year and I'm currently still using it in the shower. It's a bright pink candy colour that is all sparkly and glittery. However my favourite thing about snow fairy is its scent which is candy floss.

Favourite Songs Of The Month
  • Lovers on the sun- David Guetta
  • Dangerous- David Guetta
  • What the hell- Avril Lavigne
  • Rude- Magic
  • Prayer in C- Lily Wood
Well those are my January favourites, what are yours?

Perks of being a wallflower: Film Review

Hi!
Just over a year ago I read the perks of being a wallflower book and I loved it. Last year, just before christmas, I was sleeping over at my friends house and we watched the perks of being a wallflower together.

Story line: Socially awkward teenager Charlie has always been a wallflower and writes letters to a fellow pupil explaining his life in school and at home. He soon befriends Sam and his step-brother Patrick. His friends teach him there's more to life than being a wallflower. However Charlie has a dark secret that's threatening to resurface.

My Opinion: The movie was amazing and everything I expected it to be. The movie even includes the rocky horror picture show which I'm a massive fan of! The ending was different from the book (by quite a bit) but I still enjoyed it. I thought it captured teen life accurately and the atmosphere in the film is just brilliant.

Have you watched the perks of being a wallflower before? If you haven't I suggest you do!

My Recent Reads

Hello!
Today I'm going to be sharing with you what I have been reading recently.

The wrong boy: Suzi Zail

Background:(This book isn't based on a true story) A Jewish girl named Hanna is sent to Auschwitz with her family. She, her mother and her sister, Erkia, are seperated from her father. Hanna can play the piano and is chosen to play for the camp commander. However its not long before she falls in love with
the commander's son, Karl.

Comment: Although the book is called the wrong boy, Hanna falling in love with Karl isn't the main story line. The story line is all the hardships she has to suffer while at Auschwitz and what it was like being at Auschwitz. Although I already knew quite about about the Holocaust this book really opened my eyes and gave me much more depth to what actually went on. I found it really sad and although the book had a happy ending it still left me sad as it's still quite sad.

Days of blood and starlight: Laini Taylor

Background: This is the sequel to Daughter of smoke and bone. Karou decides to stay in the chimera and seraphim world, Erezt. Here she takes up the job of resurrection from her adopted father, Brimstone. However these newly resurrected chimera are being used as soldiers to fight the seraphim and a war is on the brink of brewing. Her lover, Akiva, is a seraphim and is trying to save the chimera and show that fighting is not the way forward.

Comment: Almost a year ago I read daughter of smoke and bone and I loved it. I loved reading this one as well. The plot really develops as with the relationships with the characters. There were a few surprises in this book and it leaves you on a cliff hanger.

The Perfectionists: Sara Shepard

Background: 5 girls are sick of rich bully Nolan. At his party they play a prank on him that goes horribly wrong. They are trying to keep quite about what they did and there secrets of their past. However its not long before it starts to come out.

Comment: I really enjoyed this book and it jumps about from each girls story. You think the girls are responsible for Nolan's accident but there not, it's someone else and the book ends on a cliff hanger. I enjoyed how the plot develops and you find out the girls secrets and why they wanted to prank Nolan.

Opal Plumstead: Jaqueline Wilson

Background: Opal Plumstead is a bright girl with a scholarship who dreams of attending Oxford. When her dad is put in prison she is forced to leave school and begins to work in Fairy Glens sweet factory. Here she meets Mrs Roberts who is a suffragette and Opal becomes one as well. Also Opal begins to fall for Mrs Roberts son, Morgan

Comment: I don't care how old I am, I still love Jacqueline Wilson (she is my favourite author of my childhood). I loved reading her new book. The story line is very interesting with lots of little sub plots develop. I also like how the book talks about the context in which the book is set in as well. I found the ending a little sad as there is a sudden shocker towards the end of the book.

Well those are my recent reads. I hope you give them a try!

Favourite Bathroom Products

Hello lovelies,
Today I thought I would share with you my favourite bathroom products

Shampoo and Conditioner
Shampoo £3.89
Conditioner £3.89
I have just recently bought the Garnier Ultimate Blends shampoo and conditioner and already I love them. These are the vanilla and papaya ones and its designed for mid-long hair with split ends. Its perfect for my hair as it nourishes it and keeps my hair soft. Also it leaves my hair smelling really nice

Bubble Bath
Nspa Bubble Bath £2 (Asda)

Out of all the Bubble baths I have used this is my favourite. You only need to put a small amount in and it gives you lots of bubbles. Also it has a lovely smell of raspberries as well.

Body Scrub
 Nspa Body Scrub £2 (Asda)

I use a body scrub once a week to keep my skin soft. With some body scrubs I can find them a bit too harsh on my skin. However this one is a creamy one which means it leaves my skin all lovely and soft without it feeling like I'm sandpapering my skin. Also it leaves your skin feeling nice and fruity as well.

Shower Gel
Shower Gel 99p (Superdrug)
With shower gel's I look for ones that have a sweet scent and for 99p this one is perfect. It has a really fruit smell and lathers really easily. Also it doesn't leave me skin feeling sticky, it just leaves it feeling soft.

Hand wash
Carex Hand Wash- £1.80
When the Carex released the fun edition ones I was really excited. This one is my favourite as it smells of bubblegum and leaves your hands smelling of bubblegum for ages. Also it doesn't dry out the skin on my hands either.

Well these are my favourite bathroom products, what are yours?

Shopping Haul

Hello everyone,
Yesterday I went to MeadowHall to sales shop and here is what I bought!

Clothing
Jeggings- New Look

These were actually a christmas present off my aunty but there were way to small. However I just exchanged them for the next size up and hopefully they will fit much better.

Fleece- New Look £6 (in sale)

I spotted this fleece in the sale and decided I was going to buy it. With the weather being freezing and not having to wear a uniform anymore (YAY) I thought this will be perfect for keeping me warm at college. Its also super snuggly inside.

Smock- Primark £5
Cardigan- Primark £14.00

When I walked into Primark I spotted this smock and cardigan and fell in love with them. I just love the colour and the pattern on the smock and it teams really well with the cardigan.

Cardigan- £14.00

I have been lusting for a cardigan like this for ages and yesterday I finally bought one. As its cream coloured it will go with just about anything which means I can layer my outfits up.

Thumper Slippers- Primark £3.00
Care Bear Slippers- Primark £4.00

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know that I got these slippers for christmas. However my mum suggested I got another pair of each for when they are in the wash.

Beauty

Eco Tools Make up Brushes- Boots £11.99

With trying to look after my face I needed to buy some good quality make up brushes. I was really keen to buy the eco tools one as not only are they good quality but they are eco friendly as well. I will write a review about them once I begin to use them

Make up Applicators- Boots £2 per pack

When I'm at college or go out at the weekend I wear eye-shadow. My mum suggested I get some cheap disposable ones rather than have one brush as it would be easier to throw them away rather than wash them.

Well that's my shopping haul. I hope you enjoyed reading it.

★Happy New Year★

Happy New Year!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful year this year. Did any of you do anything nice last night? I just stayed at home and watched Arthur Christmas with my family.

Well as its the new year its time for some new years resolutions and here are mine:

  1. Become Healthy- Yes I eat healthy but I'm very unfit at the moment (mainly because I suffer from asthma). This year I want to exercise more to become more fit and not be out of breath after running for 5 seconds.
  2. Stress Less- At the moment I stress waaayyy to much and it isn't doing me any good at all. I want to be able to manage my stress and have a less stressful year
  3. Enjoy the year- Like last year I want another positive year and to enjoy this year.
What are your new years resolutions???
