My Music Playlists

Hello!
Over the past couple of months my music taste has grown and varied. After seeing various playlists posted on Twitter and Facebook I had a listen to them and made my own playlists. So here are my playlists...

My Playlists

As you can see I currently have 4 music playlists and I will explain why I made each playlists and what songs are in each playlist.

Positive Vibes Playlist

  • Ready or Not- Bridgit Mendler
  • Brighter than the sun- Colbie Caillat
  • Really don't care- Demi Lovato ft Cher Llyod
  • Let the sun shine- Labrinth
  • Turn up the Radio- Madonna
  • Happy- Pharrell Williams
  • Radioactive- Rita Ora
  • Birthday- Katy Perry
On Twitter someone posted an "uplifting playlist" so I listened to the songs and really enjoyed them, so I decided to create my positive vibes playlists. The songs are really uplifting and always put me in a good mood, I tend to listen to this playlist when I'm walking to the bus stop each morning to lift my spirits up. Out of all the songs on here Radioactive and Really don't care are my favourites as they have such a happy tune. Hopefully this playlist will grow even more.

Christmas Songs Playlist

  • I wish it could be christmas everyday- Wizzard
  • Let it snow- Dean Martin
  • All I want for christmas is you- Mariah Carey
  • Merry Christmas Everyone- Shakin Stevens
  • Last Christmas- Wham
  • Fairytale of New York- The Pogues
This one is pretty much self explanatory. During the christmas period I listen to these songs every day to get into the mood for christmas. I made this last year so I need to add some more songs but even though it's only short it has some of my favourite christmas songs on there.

Girl Power Playlist

  • I follow river- Lykke Li
  • Happy- Misty Miller
  • Wander- The Aquadolls
  • Shut up- Savages
  • My friend Goo- Sonic Youth
  • Killer Bangs- Honeyblood
My friend posted a link on Facebook to a blog which posted a playlist of feminist songs (sadly the blog no longer exists). This is such a good playlist and it makes you think how great us girls are and female empowerment. There were a lot of songs on the original playlist but I picked out my favourite. My favourite songs are here are Wander and Happy, the lyrics are just amazing and they have such a good tune.

Running Playlist

  • Lets Go- Calvin Harris ft Neyo
  • Summer- Calvin Harris
  • Dangerus- David Geutta ft Sam Martin
  • Lovers on the Sun- David Geutta ft Sam Martin
  • Changed the way you kissed me- Example
  • Stay Awake- Example
  • Little bad girl- David Geutta
This is my most random playlist as it's a collection of my favourite, upbeat songs which I listen to when I run. It helps me run in time to the music and I can focus on the lyrics and tune rather than how tired I am. This playlist has my all time favourite song Stay Awake and my 2nd favourite song Little bad girl as they have such upbeat tunes and I love songs which are really upbeat.

I would recommend listening to all these songs as you may discover your new favourite song!

What are your music playlists?

The Beauty Do's and Don'ts

Hey!
Everyone want's to look the best and there are zillions of beauty products and tutorials to help people.

However here are some simple beauty tips that will help you look your best!

Don't:
  • Pick spots: Everyone is guilty of this one (including me) but as you've probably heard hundreds of times, picking spots is really bad for your skin. You can risk infecting the area or ,even worse, it could leave a scar. As tempting as it is don't pick a spot but use tree tea oil or spot lotion and the spot will soon disappear.
  • Share Makeup: Again another one we are probably all guilty of but sharing make up is another no no. It could lead to you getting an infection/ cold-sore (on your lip). If your round at your friends bring your make up with you.
  • Licking your lips: When your lips are feeling dry and chapped its really tempting to lick them to give them some moisture, DONT!. This will dry out your lips and make them even more chapped, instead use your trusty lip balm.
  • Biting your nails: There can be a number of reason's why people bite their nails but it'ts bad for your nails. It weakens them, making them look split and ragged. If your a regular nail biter put the anti biting stuff on your nails.

Do:
  • Use SPF daily: Even when it's not sunny harmful UV rays are still exposed. Using cream with SPF daily will protect your skin from the harmful rays.
  • Exfoliate every week: By exfoliating every week you remove dead skins cells, keeping your skin feeling soft and healthy.
  • Get your hair cut regularly: This helps with stopping your hair from feeling dead by removing split ends, keeping your hair healthy. Plus you can try out new hairstyles as well, double bonus!
  • Experiment: With hundreds of online tutorials its now really easy to experiment with hair and make up. You might find loads of new styles that you love.

I hope you find these simple beauty tips useful

Current Beauty Favourites

Hello!
Over the past couple of months I have been trying out some new beauty products and they have slowly become some of my beauty favourites.

Here are my current beauty product favourites and why I like them so much

Current Beauty Favourites

L'Oreal Conditioning Protect Spray
Many of you will be aware that I recently dyed my hair ginger, so I was looking out for hair products that would maintain the colour and keep my hair looking healthy. I received this as a "secret santa" (AKA my mum) and i love this spray! You can use it in between washing your hair or just after you've washed your hair, personally I use it every other day and use it before I go to bed. It is literally conditioner in a spray form! It's does a fab job of leaving my hair feeling conditioned and prevented the colour from fading. If you have coloured hair, I recommend using this!

Nivea Double Effect Eye Make Up Remover
As much as I love my Clinique make up remover, it really stings when taking off eye make up. My friend recommended using the Nivea make up remover and I was eager to try it out. I'm glad I bought this as it didn't disappoint me. The thing I like most is it's very gentle and doesn't sting at all when removing my eye makeup. It also does a great job of removing all my make up in just a couple of seconds. I will definitely be repurchasing this!

Carmex Lip Balm
Carmex is my most trusted lip balm. Some lip balms dry my lips out and make my lips even more chapped. However whenever I have dry/ chapped lips, Carmex soothes my lips, helps them to feel moisturized and doesn't dry my lips out. If you've had the same problem as my, why not try using Carmex.

Well those are my current beauty favourites, what are yours?

Looking back and moving forward

Hola!
Firstly, Happy New Year everyone, I hope you had a brilliant 2015.

I usually do this post on New Years Eve/ New Years Day but I was away until New Years Day and didn't get back until late.

Anyway here is what my 2015 was like and what my hopes and dreams are for 2016.

2015

For me 2015 was an interesting year for me. I completed my first year at college and got decent AS Results, I went to Scotland, London and the Harry Potter Studios, I applied to university, I made some new friends and got my hair exactly how I wanted it. Like every year 2015 was filled with high and low points but I went on some amazing adventures and I have lots of great memories of last year.

For me the biggest learning point of 2015 was to let go, in many different ways. People who I was close to and were important in my life left and friendships changed. This was particularly difficult for me but I slowly learned to let go and that this was a part of life.

2016

Moving on into 2016 I will look back over the great memories and remember the lessons 2015 taught me.

2016 is going to be a big year for me in many different ways and should just be a fab year in general.

Rather than make new years resolutions I have set myself goals to achieve throughout this year:

  • Enjoy my final year at college
  • Get good A-level results
  • Get into my top choice university
  • Learn to drive and pass my driving test
  • Pass my QTS test (needed as I want to be a primary school teacher)
  • Learn to cook
  • Learn new hairstyles and different ways to apply makeup
  • Master putting on eyeliner
  • Stay healthy and exercise plenty
  • Always have a positive mindset
Hopefully I will achieve all of my goals.

I hope you all have a wonderful 2016, may it be filled with lots of fun, laughter and great memories

A new hairstyle...

Hi all!
Firstly a Merry Christmas Eve eve, I'm also sorry for not blogging in a while, I've been super busy (I think one of my new year's resolutions will be to blog more!).

On Monday I went to my local hairdressers to get my hair done and I've finally got it the way it want it (coppery/ginger, shoulder length with a fringe).

I'd been blonde for nearly 3 years and during the summer holidays I watched Switched at Birth and one of the main characters, Daphne, had ginger/ coppery hair.

Daphne from Switched at Birth
I then fell in love with her hair colour and decided I wanted to dye my hair ginger as it looked beautiful.
I also thought going ginger would suit me as I'm quite pale and by dying my hair it would bring out the warmness of my features.

Besides getting my hair dyed I had a Milk Mask Hot Towel treatment and it was HEAVEN! It was super relaxing and it made my hair a) smell lush b) feel soft and silky.

As I hadn't had my hair hadn't been cut in a while I needed a bit cutting off so I got it cut up to shoulder length (which I prefer anyway as it makes my hair easy to manage) My hairdresser also convinced me to get a "sweepy" fringe put in, so I now have a fringe as well.

My new hair!
Overall I love my new hair as this is how I've wanted it for ages and the colour really suits me.

A Room Tour

Hello lovelies!
Sorry I haven't blogged in a while, I have been busy with college work and sending off my application for university (exciting times!).

During the summer holidays I had my bedroom decorated so tonight I thought I would share with you a "room tour" (of my bedroom)

My bedroom door spells out my name and I've had the lettering since I was little. I also have an evil eye on my door (bought from when I went on holiday to Turkey) and its supposed to watch out for "bad spirits"

My Bedroom

I got one wall wallpapered and the rest of my walls were painted pink. I love the design of the wallpaper and for me it has a "vintage scrapbook" feel to it. I also got some new bedding to match my wallpaper and its so so so cosy (although I currently have my christmas bedding on). PS you may notice something propped up on my pillow, that's my toy butterfly FLY which I've had since the day I was born.

If you look very closely you can see a message on the wall and it reads: I leave a trail of sparkle wherever I go. These were some wall stickers I got from Next. I like how it subtly blends in with the wallpaper and it reflects my personality perfectly (I'm all glitter and Sparkles).

Above my bed I have my mood board which I'm currently finishing off. It has photo's, cards, post cards, theater tickets, train tickets. All the little things I like to look at and remind me of all the good times I've had.

Opposite my bed I have a shelf where I keep my ornaments which I have bought, collected and received over the years. On my shelf I have a money box, 2 trophies, 2 candles, my lucky cat and various other bits and bobs.

Recently I saved up some money and bought a TV for my room (Yes it HAD to be pink). It sits on my desk and it's perfect for when I just want to be able to relax in my room.

That's what my bedroom looks like, what does your bedroom look like?
