Beauty Dupes

Hello lovelies!
Today I'm going to tell you about beauty/ make up dupes.

For those of you who don't know what a dupe is this is what they are. Beauty/ Make up dupe: Copy of a high end product at a much more affordable price.

Now don't get me wrong, high end products are brilliant as they are usually high quality but they are expensive.

That's why I think duped products are a great idea as they are perfect for people on a budget (like me!). If you look carefully duped products are often just as good quality (though not always) as high end ones.

However some people think they are a rip off of high end products and that beauty/ makeup companies are making a business out of "glorified" fakes.

Personally I think dupes are great because its worth getting product that's just as high quality for a much cheaper price.

Beauty/ Make up dupes:

As soon as I typed in "make up dupes" and clicked on images, hundreds came up! I thought I'd share with you the best ones and it might inspire you to get the cheaper alternative

My Personal Dupes

Currently I own 2 duped products and they haven't disappointed me!
Here they are:

W7 in the nude eyeshadow palette

Naked 3 palette: £38
W7 in the nude palette: £5.99

These 2 eyeshadow palettes are very similar to each other but there is a huge difference in price. I own the w7 in the nude palette but not the naked 3 palette and I've never tried it either. However I've been using the w7 one for a couple of months now and it hasn't let me down. There are 12 different nude eyeshadows (I tend to go for the pinky shades) and the quality is really good. The colour last all day.

Blushing Hearts Blusher

Too faced blusher: £21
Blushing Hearts(I heart make up) blusher: £4.99

I spent ages looking for the duped version and I eventually found it at Superdrug in London. For those of you who are looking for the blusher its by I heart makeup (owned by makeup revolution but you won't find it on the makeup revolution stand). I've used it twice so far and I've been really pleased with the results. The blusher is very pigmented and it gives your cheeks a lovely pink glow (however I have to tone it down as it's quite bright).

With using and owning these 2 dupes I've found them to be  really good quality products that have definitely been a bargain buy.

So next time your thinking of buying a high end product, why not by the dupe of it? It will be much cheaper and the quality will be just as good.

Harry Potter and London

Hello pumpkins!
Last friday i went down south with my family for a few days and we arrived back yesterday. Whilst down south we went to the Harry Potter studio and London (for 2 days) and I thought I would share my experience with you.

Harry Potter Studio

Queuing in the line with my pass
It took us 3 hours to do the tour but it was SO SO worth it! The tour consisted of 2 buildings and an outdoor area.
In the inside bit we saw all the original set, costume and props that were used within all 8 films. It was amazing seeing and recognizing the different sets that were used in the films.

Dumbledore's Office

Halloween Feast in the Great Hall

Diagon Alley

Yule Ball Costumes

Off to catch the train on
Platform 9 3/4

During our tour they had a Dark Events going on. They had death eaters walking around (I met 2 of them!), how the wands were crafted for the films and how the wand special effects were created.
I met a death eater!

Butter Beer!
I even got to try the famous butter beer that features within the harry potter books and films. It was really nice and refreshing although I wasn't keen on the white marshmallow froth on top (it was a bit too sweet for me)

Knocking on Harry's House
With the outside bit of the tour they had the Knight bus, Privett Drive, the bridge from Hogwarts (which was very uneven to walk across!) and Potter's cottage.

Its Forkes the Phoenix
Once we went back inside we looked round the creatures section which was very fascinating. I met Forkes the phoenix (which I was very happy about as he is one of my favourite creatures in Harry Potter) and I also met Buckbeak (Buckbeak bowed to me and for those of you who have read Harry Potter you will know what it means). They are robotic but they look very realistic and are very cleverly designed.

Hogwarts Castle!
My favourite part of the tour had to be seeing Hogwarts castle. It was all lit up and looked so magical. They even used this model for some of the scenes in the movies!

The tour was fabulous and I really enjoyed looking round all the set and designs. If any of you get the chance to go I would say go, you won't be disappointed!

London: Day 1

In the morning we walked round Camden Market. I was a tad disappointed this time as they had changed all the stalls around as they are currently renovating an area of the market. However I still enjoyed looking round the market and I bought 3 tops and a sun and moon necklace. For lunch we had "Bang Bang" chicken and noodles which was delicious.

Covent Garden Market

The Moomin Shop!

In the afternoon we went round Covent Garden which we had never done before. I enjoyed going round the market and visiting all the cute little shops there. My favourite shops were the moomin shop and Artbox. Artbox was filled with tonnes of kawaii stuff (AKA Severina heaven) and when we go back I'm going to buy a cuddly alpaca from there!

London: Day 2

Changing of the guards

In the morning we watched the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace and I was lucky enough to get to the front of the palace. It was great seeing the guards change, some of the guards arrived on horses and the guards also played music.

In the afternoon we ate in Leicester Square at Bella Italia. It was a lovely meal!

Well that's what I've been up to these past few days. Its been lovely spending some time away from home. Have you done anything for half term?

Autumn is here

Hello everyone!
As autumn has arrived I thought i'd share with you 5 things I like about autumn.

  1. The leaves: In autumn I love seeing the leaves change colours from green to different shades of red and orange. They look very pretty. I also stepping on the crunchy leaves and kicking piles of leaves (I'm still a kid at heart)
  2. Sweater weather: As the weathers getting colder I've said goodbye to my summer clothes and hello to my sweaters/jumpers. There's nothing better than snuggling into your jumper on a cold day.
  3. Halloween: Now I don't go trick or treating or to halloween parties but halloween is one of my favourite events in autumn. I love seeing everyone's houses all spooky with halloween decorations. Also other reason to like halloween is the halloween themed sweets and chocolates.
  4. Bonfire Night: Probably my favourite night of autumn. I don't like the loud bangs from the fireworks but I love bonfire night because I love seeing the fireworks explode into a million different colours, the smell of bonfires and treacle toffee!
  5. Cosy nights in: I love spending my evenings (when I'm not doing homework) snuggled up at home, watching TV, having a hot bath ect. With the weather being cold autumn is the perfect season to do this.

Those were my 5 things I like about autumn, what do you like about autumn?

A walk in the forest

Hello lovelies,
This morning I went on a walk in a forest near where I live and it was great!

The forest itself

The mushrooms we saw
I love going for walks, especially out in the country. It's great for stress relief and it gives you time away from the hassles of day to day life. I found it very relaxing walking through the forest and felt at peace. The scenery surrounding me was very beautiful as well.

Walking down from the "hanging rock"
My favourite part of the walk was walking up to the hanging rock (sorry I didn't get any photo's of it). Its a massive rock and if you climb on top of it you can see for miles around you. I loved sitting there for a few minutes and taking everything in. However as much as I love the hanging rock and the view, its ridiculously steep walking up and down to it.

So that was my morning and next time if your feeling stressed, why not take a walk out into the countryside.

My Everyday Makeup

Hello!
I'm sorry its been such a long time since I last blogged. I had writers block and I've started college again so I'm quite busy again.
Anyway I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things and start blogging regularly again.

Today I thought I would share with you my everyday makeup

W7 In the nude eyeshadow palette
If you read my beauty wishlist then you'll know this was one of the items on it and I finally bought it! I love using it as the eye shadows are pigmented and the colour lasts all day. As part of my every day make up I tend to alternate between the light/ pinky shades as I love the natural look.

Miss Manga Mascara
The Miss Manga mascara still remains one of my favourite mascara's and that's why I love using it every day. It doesn't clump and it makes my eye lashes look really long whilst looking natural

Miss Sporty clear mascara
I use clear mascara to tidy up my brows so they look neat and tidy. Also on days I don't want to wear normal mascara I use clear mascara so my eyelashes still look long. Sometimes when I use waterproof mascara and I've taken it off I put clear mascara on my eyelashes to protect them (start them feeling dry).

L'Oreal Star Secrets makeup kit

Out of the makeup kit I use the blusher as its a lovely dusty pink colour. It gives my cheeks a subtle glow without looking like I've overdone it on the blusher.

Revlon lip butter, Shade: Peach Parfait
I've spent ages looking for a shade of lipstick that suits me and this one's perfect. Its a lovely peach colour and suits my skin tone very well. As it's a lip butter it also keeps my lips moisturized and doesn't make my lips feel dry like some lipsticks do.

Those are the products I use for my everyday makeup, what do you use?
