Healthy,Happy Hair

Hello!
Yesterday I got my hair cut and it felt so good to have it cut as the last time I had it cut was just a couple of days before christmas!

My new haircut

I got my hair cut at Two Moons hairdressing salon (my local hairdresser), I love going there as its a lovely salon and the staff there are super friendly.
Before yesterday my hair was practically dead, full of split ends and felt like straw (not a pretty site). However I got a deep conditioning treatment put on my hair, which is like a mousse and some argan oil (its called a conditioning cocktail and it smells super yummy and amazing). My hair feels so much softer and healthier now and I can still smell the treatment in my hair as well.
My hair was quite long but as it was so dead I got it cut up to my shoulders and had it put in a bob.
I love my new hairstyle as my hair looks and feels a million times better and I'm hoping that by having my hair in a bob it wont go everywhere when I wear it down.

Have you had your haircut recently???

My beauty wishlist

Hiya!
I can't believe its June already, time is really flying by this year.

Recently I have been wanting some new beauty items so here is my current wishlist.

W7 In the nude eyeshadow palette

I'm really into using nude and natural eyeshadow as part of my eye make-up. This palette caught my eye as it has a wide selection of colours which are perfect for me. It is also considerably cheaper than the Urban Decay Naked palette and the quality is supposed to be just as good.

Maybelline lash sensational waterproof mascara

I've looked at this mascara a couple of times and it's meant to be really good. Its supposed to make your eyelashes really long and give then lots of volume so I'm really keen to purchase it. They have just released a waterproof version which is the one I want as I'm in desperate need of some waterproof mascara (I own none atm)

Clinique super balanced foundation

I also don't own any foundation at the moment and with using clinique as part of my skincare I've decided to buy a foundation as well. I've been given a few samples of the super balanced foundation and its perfect for me. Its very easy to apply (although it does take a bit to fully blend in) and it gives my skin a lovely glow without looking like I've caked my face in make up.

Katy Perry Meow perfume

In my christmas advent calendar I received this as a solid perfume in a locket. It smells so gorgeous (it smells of vanilla and has a lovely musky smell to it) and sweet and I really love sweet scents so now I want a bottle of the perfume. The bottle itself is really cute as well (and its pink, my favourite colour)

Vera Wang Princess perfume

Recently I tried a tester of this perfume in Boots and fell in love with the scent. It's got a lovely floral scent which I like. Again I really like the bottle as well and now I just want a bottle of this perfume.

Well that's my beauty wishlist, I will give you a review once I have bought and tried these products. Do you have a beauty wishlist???

A week in Scotland!

Hello lovelies!
I have finished all my exams for this year which means I can start blogging regularly again (YAY).

For half term I spent the week on holiday in Scotland in a lovely caravan park called Tralee Bay near Oban.

Here is what I got up to during my week in scotland!

Saturday

Lock of Lowes (not my photo)

The Ospreys nesting there (not my photo)

Saturday was our first official day in Scotland. We started the day by visiting the nature reserve at the Lock of Lowes. Here they get a pair of Ospreys who nest here every there so we went to see them. This time there were 3 eggs and two of the chicks had already had.

We then looked round the town of Pitlochry and we picked up lunch there.

After lunch we went to Killiecrankie which is where the famous soldiers leap is. Me, my brother and my dad went down and saw the soldiers leap.

Sunday

In the morning we looked around the town of Oban (about 10 miles from where we were staying).

Afterwards we went to Easingdale to look around the Highland shop.

Easingdale

The Atlantic bridge (near Easingdale)
We ate lunch at the Ben Lora cafe (situated in the village of Benderloch, the village we stayed in). The Ben Lora cafe is also a bookshop. We had eaten here the last time we visited and the food is delicious and the staff are really friendly. For my lunch I had a ham and cheese toastie followed by a scone with cream and jam.

Monday

Firstly we went to Fort Augustus which is home to the Lock Ness Monster (which we didn't see). We looked around the shops. There is a nice glass shop there which sell ornaments of the Lock Ness Monster and other things.

We then drove up to the Isle of Skye. The scenery, on the drive there, was so beautiful and breath-taking!. The mountains where huge and it made me feel really small and awe-struck.

The Mountains

The Isle of Skye was stunning in itself. We only had a short drive on the Isle of Skye as we were running out of time. However we will definitely be visiting  the Isle of Skye again!

Tuesday

Today we went to Knapdale forest. In Knapdale beavers had been released as a project to bring beavers back into Scotland. Knapdale was the "trial site" and the trial lasted from 2009-2014. The project is still ongoing as the data is being collected and then the Scottish Government will make their decision.

Unfortunately we didn't see any beavers while we walked around Knapdale. However we could see signs of beaver activity (such as where the beavers had gnawed the trees).

Wednesday

We visited one of my favourite places in Scotland today, the Isle of Mull. It rained all day on Mull but we still had a lovely day there.

When we got to Mull the first place we visited was Tobermory, famously known as Balamory. We looked around the shops at Tobermory and me and my brother raided the chocolate shop there.

Tobermory

Afterwards we drove around Mull. I love driving around Mull as the scenery is very pretty. Also on Mull you can see Sea Eagles (White tailed Eagles, largest bird of prey in the UK) and Golden Eagles. However due to the rain we didn't see any eagles that day.

Thursday

Today we drove up to Ardnamurchan which is the very west point of Scotland. On the way there I spotted a Golden Eagle.

We stopped off at a nature reserve. At the reserve we spotted 2 seals,an otter and 4 porpoise. It is very rare to see otters and porpoise in the wild.

After that we then drove up to the nature centre and me and my brother looked around the exhibition there. On the drive home a pine martin ran across the road and seeing a pine martin in the wild is also a very rare site!

Again the scenery around Ardnamurchan was so beautiful!

Ardnamurchan

Friday

Today was our last day in Scotland (*sobs*). In the morning we visited the Barcaldine aquarium. We watched the otters and seals get fed and we saw all the fish in the tanks.

Nemo and Dory

Lewis and Isla, the 2 otters

The Seals

For lunch we ate in the Ben Lora cafe again and I had the same as what I had on Sunday. In the afternoon we had a final look around Oban.

I had an amazing week in Scotland and it was really relaxing. What did you get up to during half term?

❤April Favourites❤

Hello everyone!
Wow its the 1st of May already which means it's 10 days til my exams (ahhh :( ) and 21 days until they are all over ( YAY :) ).

I know this post is a day late but here are my april favourites

Carex Strawberry Laces Hand Wash
This is one of my favourite hand washes, mainly because its pink. This hand wash smells amazing and it lasts as well. Also it lathers really easy and leaves my hands feeling soft afterwards. I'm definitely going to buy some more when I run out.

Strawberry Cupcake Hand Cream
I saw this hand cream being introduced in Superdrug so I decided to pick on up and see if it was any good (I also managed to buy it at the introductory price as well). The packaging is really cute and pretty. The actual hand cream has a really sweet smell and does a great job of moisturizing my hands. They feel really soft and smell lovely.

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush
Body Scrub
I got this in the big Soap and Glory gift set for Christmas. This has a sharp fruity smell to it (which reminds me of lemonade floats). This does a great job of exfoliating my body and I've been really pleased with the results so far.

Dove Gradual Tanner
I used a gradual tanner last year and it went patchy and gave me orange hands (yes I accidentally forgot to wash them after apply). However I wanted to give it another go as I have very pale skin so I picked up this one. In just a few days it gave me a tan that looked great and natural at the same time without going patchy. I apply it evenly on my body just after a bath or a shower.

Aussie- Shampoo and Conditioner
I'm on a misson to find the perfect shampoo and conditioner and after hearing many great reviews about these two I decided to pick up some mini ones to test. These have made a massive difference to my hair. My hair feels much more softer and silkier and it also smells fabulous. I loved these I actually bought the big bottles as well.

Well those are my April favourites.

How to: Revise

Hi!
Sorry for being inactive recently, my exams are a few weeks away so I'm focusing all my free time on revising for them at the moment. However by the end of May all my exams will be over so I will get back into blogging regularly.

On the subject of exams I thought I would share with you how I revise for my exams and some revision tips.

Revision- while it's something we all find tedious and try to put off its essential if you want to pass your exams. Here are some revision tips to help

  • Create a revision timetable: If you are sitting different exams in different subjects then the first thing you should do is create a revision timetable. This makes it so much easier to revise as you can plan on what days you're going to revise different subjects. Don't forget to include breaks and when you have lunch and dinner in your timetable as well.
Revision Timetable Idea
  • Get rid of distractions: One of the main reasons little revision gets done is procrastination and distractions. If you find you get distracted during revision try turning off your social media and take all the thins that distract you (phone, ipod ect) out of your room

  • Take breaks in between revision: With revising NEVER revise for more than an hour without taking a break in between because your brain will switch off and you will lose focus. When taking a break do something that will clear your head such as listen to some music, go on a quick walk, read a book ect.

  • Create Revision resources: For me the best way to revise is to create revision resources. These can be mind maps, posters, tables ect. One thing is DON'T just rewrite out your notes as this will not help you remember. Also use revision guides to help you. With revision guides buy them under the exam board you are sitting (for example GCSE AQA Geography revision guide)

  • Get some exam practice: After creating all your resources get some exam practice in there by answering past exam questions. If you go on exam websites (such as AQA) you can find past papers to answer.

  • Handy revison websites:
  • My Maths
  • BBC Bitesize Revision
  • MY GCSE Science (on youtube)

I hope you find this tips useful for when you come to revise for your exams.

❤March Favourites❤

Hello!
Its the last day of March and the weather is being very temperamental where I live. One minute it's sunny and the next its pouring with rain.

Anyway here are my monthly favourites, for this month

Clinique- Take the day off
cleansing milk
This is one of the best make-up removers I have used. Its a cleansing milk which means its not harsh but gently removes make-up. You apply to your face, leave for a few minutes and then wash off. Also this make-up remover stops your skin from drying it, an added bonus.

Bourjois- Smokey eyes
eyeshadow palette
Recently I have changed how I do my eye make-up so I started using this. I use the bronze coloured eye shadow (top left) which makes my eyes stand out and gives a glow to them.

Superdrug- Strawberry and
Raspberry shower gel
This shower gel smells just like sweets and its pink! It lathers very quickly and leaves your skin feeling clean without feeling dried out. Its strong smelling (in a good way) which means you can still smell it on your skin afterwards.

Soap and Glory- Hand Cream
My hands have been quite dry lately and this has done a super job of moisturizing them. Its smells really nice as well.

Well those are my monthly favourite products

Beauty DIY: Get rid of dry hands

Hi!
Its finally the Easter holidays (yay) which means oodles of revising for me (yes my exams are just over a month away which means I won't be blogging as much, sorry guys).

Anyway enough rambling from me. Today I'm going to share a beauty trick I learnt a couple of years ago and it really works. This particular trick gets rid of dry, flaky hands.

What you will need

  • Olive oil
  • Hand cream
  • Hot soapy water
Step 1
Fill a sink (about halfway full) with hot, soapy water

Step 2

Put a small blob of olive oil on your hands and rub it in until it has all sunk in.

Step 3

Apply a thick layer of hand cream to your hands and let it sink in.

Step 4

Place your hands in the water and soak them for about 5 minutes.

Step 5

Towel dry your hands and apply some hand cream. The results= smooth, soft hands!

I hope you find this beauty trick useful, let me know in the comments below it it works for you.
